Why attend: Ms. Golz is responsible for Ernst & Young’s
independence function. The first female manager in E&Y’s Milwaukee
office, she has served numerous corporate clients, primarily in the
technology industries.
Bio: Karen Golz joined Ernst & Young LLP’s audit practice in 1976 after graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Illinois, Champaign. Karen became an audit manager in 1980 and later the first woman manager in the Milwaukee office. She became a partner in 1987 and transferred to the National Office in 2001. In May 2004 she was promoted to Americas Director of Independence. Karen has served many clients over the years, including Textron and Houghton Mifflin Company. She has served on numerous charitable boards and was recently named as one of New England’s “Leading Women” by the Girl Scouts of Greater Boston. Karen and her husband live in Wayland, Massachusetts with their golden retriever, Copper. She has her private pilot’s license.
