Why attend: Mr. Stewart has been instrumental in developing
Deloitte’s next-generation audit methodology and technology. In the
late 1990’s, he launched Deloitte’s e-business and network economy
practice and created the firm’s computer audit practice in South
Africa.
Bio: Trevor Stewart is a principal with Deloitte where he has special responsibility for Audit R&D. Among his current projects is the development of the firm’s next-generation audit methodology and technology. In the late 1990’s Trevor initiated Deloitte’s e-Business and Network Economy practice. He created of the firm’s computer audit practice in South Africa. He has served clients and led development projects for Deloitte in Johannesburg, London and New York. His publications include Statistical Techniques for Analytical Review in Auditing, with Kenneth W. Stringer (John Wiley, 1996), The e-Business Tidal Wave (Deloitte, 1998), and Alliances and the Extended Enterprise (Deloitte, 2002). His current work includes the development of a unified model for audit assurance and materiality allocation. Born and educated in South Africa, Trevor joined Deloitte Johannesburg in 1971. He is a Chartered Accountant (South Africa) and has a BSc (Hons) degree in mathematics from the University of Cape Town. He lives in Manhattan with his wife Margaret.
