The AICPA Responds to the Accounting Profession of the Future

Why attend: Mr. Voynich is the chief advocate of the accounting
profession and its 340,000 members. Within the AICPA, he has
participated in strategic planning, education, legislation, budget and
other activities.
Bio: Scott graduated from the University of Georgia in 1975
with a a major in accounting. He began practice with his current firm,
Robinson, Grimes & Company, P.C. , in Columbus, Georgia. He presently
serves as the managing partner of this 55 person firm. Scott served as
state president of the Georgia Society of CPAs from 1994 to 1995.
Current and former involvements include service in the areas of
Strategic Planning, Education Foundation, Legislation, and Budget. He
has been involved in lobbying efforts on behalf of the profession and
participated in the AICPA Federal Key Persons Program for many years.
He has served on the governing Council of the AICPA, as a trustee of
the Accounting Research Association, AICPA Benevolent Fund, AICPA
Foundation and on the AICPA State Legislation Committee during the
development of the most recent version of the Uniform Accountancy Act.
He has participated for five years on the twenty-three member national
Board of Directors of the AICPA, served on the Finance Committee of
the Institute, and chaired the AICPA Expert Panel Oversight Group.
Scott presently serves as chairman of the AICPA Board and as a member
of the Strategic Planning, Finance, and Audit committees, Benevolent
Fund, Accounting Research Association and is currently the Chairman of
the Effective Legislation Committee.
