disciplined framework, in order to succeed. This presentation will
give you the opportunity to experience, from the perspective of the
CEO of an Austin-based, publicly traded (NASDAQ) technology company,
these real world important questions: 1. WHY should an company have
a culture of discipline, 2. HOW to create a culture of discipline,
and 3. the LESSONS LEARNED from successes and failures.
Bio:
Patrick J. Balthrop joined Luminex in May of
2004. Luminex® (NASDAQ: LMNX) develops, manufactures and markets
innovative biological testing technologies with applications
throughout the life-sciences industry. The company’s open-architecture
xMAP® technology enables large numbers of biological tests to be
conducted and analyzed quickly, cost-effectively and accurately.
Prior to joining Luminex, Balthrop served as president of
Fisher Healthcare, a Fisher Scientific International company. He also
served in a number of leadership positions for over 20 years with
Abbott Laboratories, primarily in Abbott's Diagnostics Division,
including head of worldwide commercial diagnostics operations.
Balthrop has over 25 years of experience in the industry including
R&D, manufacturing, sales and marketing, intellectual property and
technology management, and international operations.
Balthrop holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management
of Northwestern University, and a B.S. in Biology from Spring Hill
College. Balthrop serves on the Board of Directors of Howard
Brown Health Center in Chicago.
