Why attend: In her comments Lynn will challenge this
year's class of talented MBAs to make strides in areas overlooked by
previous generations of corporate leaders. Specifically, Lynn will
attempt to stir the emotions of these ambitious leaders to better
integrate their work, their personal lives, and their world better
than did their predecessors.
Bio: Lynn Utter was appointed President and COO of Knoll,
North America in 2008. Knoll (NYSE: KNL) is recognized worldwide as
a leading designer and manufacturer of branded furniture and
textiles, focusing on innovation and modern design for work
environments and residences.
Before joining Knoll Lynn served as Chief Strategy Office for Coors
Brewing Company. During her ten years at Coors she led various
operating groups including Coors Distributing Company, container
manufacturing, Coors’ partnership with CCM/FEMSA in Mexico, R&D,
technical services, and logistics. Earlier in her career, Lynn spent
six years with Frito-Lay where she held a variety of leadership
positions in sales and distribution, and four years in consulting
with Strategic Planning Associates in Washington, D.C.
Lynn earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1984
from the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her MBA from
Stanford University in 1986. She is a Director for WESCO
International, served as a Trustee for Mile High United Way, and
serves on the Dean’ Advisory Council for both the Stanford Graduate
School of Business and The University of Texas McComb’s School of
Business. She is a Henry Crown Fellow at The Aspen Institute, is a
board member of C200, serves on the Hidden Brain Drain Task Force,
and has been recognized as an Outstanding Young Texas Ex.
Lynn and her husband, Ward, are in the process of relocating to
Pennsylvania with their two children.
