Faculty Research Update

Marketing Department Makes Great Strides

Image Eli CoxThese are exciting times in the McCombs Marketing Department. During the past year and a half we have hired five new faculty members and are authorized to hire three more – an increase of fifty percent. Because student enrollment remains constant, this increase means smaller class sizes and a more diverse course offering. It also ensures we have a critical mass of faculty researchers who are intent on advancing the state-of-the art in the discipline of marketing. Spotlight: The Graduate Marketing Network

Image Angela GetteThe McCombs School of Business Graduate Marketing Network is comprised of over 140 first and second year MBA students. The Graduate Marketing Network’s mission is to provide its members with tools and resources to CONNECT them to their marketing interests while helping them DISCOVER new ones. Through hands on experiences, cutting edge speakers and innovative workshops, GMN provides its members with a current perspective on marketing and prepares them for successful futures as marketing professionals. An Introduction: New CCIMS Administrative Director

Upcoming Events

We are pleased to announce two exciting events this spring that are consistent with our mission:

March 2008    
Sensing the Future to Compete in the Present
On March 20th, an interactive workshop will be held for member companies and faculty by Dr. Bob Johansen, the Distinguished Fellow at Institute for the Future in Silicon Valley.  

May 2008    
Achieving Customer Impact by Balancing Environmental Intelligence, Supply Chain Optimization & Product Design
On May 14 and 15, a sustainability symposium on holistic product design will be co-hosted by CCIMS and Supply Chain Management Center of Excellence. The conference will explore new ways to look at creating cross-functional, integrated design processes through the lens of sustainability.
