	First-Year Coursework
BA101H (FA)	Professional Development & Career Planning ▪ BA101H is a course designed to help first semester BHP students quickly feel a part of the program. The course emphasizes topics such as leadership, ethics, career opportunity, and integrity, all the while keeping an eye on the business world and introducing students to new ideas.
BA324H (W)	Business Communication: Oral & Written ▪ Communication is the name of the game in BA324H. Class topics vary slightly by professor, but students will learn the basics of working in teams, written business communications, and presentation skills. The class culminates in a major team presentation, combining topics studied during the semester with the practice of public speaking.
	Second-Year Coursework
BA151H (FA)	Honors Lyceum ▪ A course taken in the first semester of a BHP student’s sophomore year, BA151H brings leaders from the business world or other related fields to speak on a variety of subjects. The class is designed to help further exploration of possible major and/or career choices.
MAN336H (FA)	Foundations of Organizational Behavior & Administration ▪ MAN336H helps students learn more about organizational behavior and how it affects the workplace. The class is based largely upon the reading and discussion of real world case studies. Students also form groups and participate in a large project focusing on the managerial and psychological issues leaders deal with in every organization.
ACC311H (FA)	Fundamentals of Financial Accounting ▪ Accounting 311H is a comprehensive course that introduces the student to basics and fundamentals of financial accounting, including extensive analysis of the four financial statements. In addition to the conventional lectures and textbook study, students study and analyze cases and financial statements of actual companies to reinforce concepts learned in class.
ACC312H (SP)	Fundamentals of Managerial Accounting ▪ ACC312H focuses on the basics of managerial accounting – methods used within a business to obtain a picture of its performance. Generally taken during the sophomore year, the class is also often the BHP student’s first introduction to a case study method of learning. Five cases, completed in groups, supplement the normal textbook-based method of learning.
STA309H (SP)	Elementary Business Statistics ▪ This course concentrates on the practice of statistics as a tool for learning about the real world. Upon completion of the course you should be able to think critically about data, to use graphical and numerical summaries, to apply standard statistical inference procedures, and to draw conclusions from such analyses.
	Upper Level Coursework
FIN357H (FA)	Business Finance ▪ FIN357H shows students the basics of corporate finance. The class asks questions such as: Does a project make financial sense? What are methods we can use to determine this? The methods learned in this class are the same basics used in stock valuation and debt pricing, topics later in the finance curriculum. The small class size of the BHP also allows students to work in groups on longer, more complex problems to get a better sense of how the issues play out in the real world.
MKT337H	Principles of Marketing ▪ The class teaches students the basics from the broad discipline of marketing. The class brings in examples of marketing techniques from the business and academic worlds to give students an idea of how marketing is being used today. The class also uses case studies with a whole business focus, so student can not just focus on marketing and ignore the implications the area has on other aspects of the business.
OM335H	Operations Management ▪ OM335H deals with the operations side of management. Students receive an overview of topics such as supply chain and inventory management. While offered in the regular undergraduate program, only honors students are require to take OM335, giving them an advantage as they are schooled in one more aspect essential to business. (NOTE: While most students take this course during the 3rd or 4th years, students considering a supply chain management major may want to consider this course as an option for the spring of their 2nd year.)
STA371H (FA)	Intro to Management Science ▪ Management Science is an undergraduate course unique to the BHP. The class highlights the latest in risk management techniques, mathematical decision making tools, and forecasting methods. The class also gives students access to up-to-date software used in these areas. Students then apply the knowledge gained by solving case studies in a group setting.
LEB323H (W)	Business Law ▪ Students gain an understanding of the laws businesses often deal with in today’s society in LEB323H. Students also undertake discussions related to business ethics and general issues in the law. All students also participate in a group project that lets them explore one particular area of law in more detail.
MAN 374H (W)	General Management & Strategy ▪ Designed to be taken at the pinnacle of the academic career, MAN 374H enables students to use their understanding of relevant functional areas such as marketing, finance, R&D and production to analyze business situations from the point of view of the practicing general manager.
