Courses of Study & Credit
Students take two courses for 6 hours of upper-division credit, as follows:

    • Business Law (LEB 323 or LEB 320F)
(3 credits) taught by Dr. David Spence (McCombs faculty)

For the 2008 syllabus, click here.

    • Law of the European Union (LEB 370.12 or IB 372)
(3 credits) taught by Dr. Robert Lane (University of
      Edinburgh faculty)
For the 2008 syllabus, click here.

Classes are typically held Monday through Thursday, 9am-1pm, on The University of Edinburgh campus.  Several educational visits complement the material covered in class. In summer 2007, the group visited the Scottish Parliament and heard from several guest speakers.

Students should consult with their Academic Advisor to determine how the credit applies to their degree. All grades compute into the UT-Austin GPA.  Pending Academic Advisor approval, students can take the courses on a credit/no credit basis.  Business students must take the Business Law course for a letter grade only.  Note that coursework taken in a student's major or minor must be taken for a letter grade. Students in the Business Honors Program can request with the BHP Office to receive honors credit for Business Law (LEB 323).

Eligibility/Pre-requisites
This program is open to undergraduate students at the University of Texas at Austin who are in good academic standing and have an overall minimum UT-Austin GPA of 2.50.  The pre-requisites must be met by the summer of participation.

Note:  Students must obtain approval from their Academic Advisor prior to participation in the program (as noted on the Academic Advisor Approval Form).
