2009
Business Law Program in Edinburgh
Orientation and Support
Participants are required to attend pre-departure orientation workshops held on the UT-Austin
campus in the spring, and an on-site orientation in Edinburgh. A UT-Austin
on-site program liaison will be in Edinburgh with the students for the duration
of the program. Students are strongly encouraged to participate in
activities that are designed to acquaint them with the surroundings, the public
transportation systems, and some of the major cultural sites in Edinburgh.
Activities
Shortly after their arrival, students will participate in a required on-site
orientation to acquaint them with Edinburgh, The University of Edinburgh, and
the student residence. Throughout the program, the UT-Austin program
liaison arranges group activities/cultural visits for the students. Some activities are
covered by your program fee, and others may require a small fee.
In 2008, the group participated in the following activities: bus tour of
Edinburgh (including Botanical Gardens and Britannia Yacht), 4th of July
gathering at
Arthur's
Seat,
Highlands weekend bus tour, regular "family night" dinners, visit to the
Palace of Holyroodhouse,
trip to the historic
Edinburgh Castle, and a farewell event. Most group activities take
place during the week. Other suggested visits in the area include:
Ghost Tour of Edinburgh or plays at the
Royal Lyceum.
