Getting Started
The following checklist is for students enrolled in the CIBER Summer Study Abroad Programs.

Immediately Following Submission of Your Deposit: |
1. Meet with your Academic Advisor to discuss
course
applicability toward your degree.
2. Submit the following forms/items to CIBER (CNB_N 3.204):
• A program-specific Academic Advisor Approval Form
(must
be signed by
your Academic Advisor) •
Professionalism Policy
•
One passport-sized photo (headshot against
solid background,
can be color or
black/white)
Important Note: Acceptance into the program is
contingent upon your successful completion of the above steps. Failure to do so
in a timely manner may forfeit your enrollment in the program.

During the Spring Semester: |
1.
Passport: Everyone must have a valid passport. If you are a
U.S. citizen and do not have a
passport or need to renew your
passport, see the
U.S. Department of State website and apply
as soon as possible through your
local post office or through
UT Passport and ID
Services.

4. Apply for
Financial Aid: summer priority deadline is February

citizens may require a visa for travel to
certain countries, see

Specific Information. Non-U.S.
citizens should check with the
appropriate consulate for visa
requirements as soon as possible.

6. Obtain
Int’l
Student ID Card (ISIC): UT-Austin requires every
student going abroad to have an
ISIC. It can be purchased
through
UT Passport and ID
Services or
My ISIC for about
$22-$25.
1. Attend Pre-Departure Orientation,
submit: • Legible copy of the photo & signature
pages of your passport 2.
Course Registration: submit online course enrollment and
course registration fee payment to University Extension.
Instructions will be distributed to participants at the
orientation workshops.

(UTEID required)
Submit the following forms in the

7. Responsibilities of Participation Form 8. Online Financial Aid
Counseling, if applicable
Submit remaining balance payment of your CIBER program fee by 5pm on May 21, 2009.
Fee bills will be distributed at the orientation workshops in spring 2009. The
program fee (minus the deposit) will show up in "What I Owe." For a detail of fees and other program costs, refer to the
specific program website.
