The scholarships listed below are specificly for students going on summer CIBER study abroad programs.

The CIBER Summer Study Abroad  Need/Merit Scholarship is awarded at the end of the fall semester and provides financial assistance to deserving students who are studying abroad through the CIBER-sponsored Summer Study Abroad Programs.  Awards are based on merit and financial need.  $1500 will be awarded per scholarship. The number of scholarship awards and amounts distributed each year varies. 

The CIBER Summer Study Abroad Project-based Scholarship is awarded during the spring semester and provides financial assistance to deserving students who are studying abroad through the CIBER-sponsored Summer Study Abroad Programs.  Awards are based on a proposed project that the student will complete while abroad or upon return.  $800 will be awarded per scholarship. The number of scholarship awards and amounts distributed each year varies. 

The BHP CIBER Summer Study Abroad Scholarship is awarded during the spring semester and provides financial assistance to deserving Business Honors Program students who are studying abroad on any CIBER Summer Study Abroad Program.  Awards are based on merit and financial need. Five scholarships in the amount of $1000 will be awarded.

The MPA CIBER Summer Study Abroad Scholarship is awarded during the spring semester and provides financial assistance to deserving MPA students who are studying abroad through one of the three MPA CIBERSummer Study Abroad Programs in Paris, Prague, or Hong Kong.  Awards are based on merit and financial need. $2000 in scholarships will be awarded per program.

Eligibility

  • Open to students going on one the 2010 CIBER-sponsored
    Summer Study Abroad Programs.  Students should be be

    enrolled in the program at the time of submitting the
    scholarship application.

  • Students must have a GPA of 3.00 or better.

 

Application

The application consists of a basic online application, several essay questions, a listing of your honors and awards, resume, recommendation letters, and basic financial information about yourself and the program.  To access this scholarship application and others click here for the GLOBAL A$$IST website.

Additional Award Information

Awardees must maintain good academic standing and must continue satisfactory progress toward their UT-Austin degree(s).  Awardees who are not already enrolled in one of the 2009 CIBER Summer Study Abroad Programs must confirm their enrollment in the program by the time of accepting the award.  (Note:  enrollment in some of the programs may close prior to the scholarship application deadline.)  Awardees are required to fully engage and complete the full academic program, as prescribed.  Additionally, awardees are required to serve as CIBER Global Ambassadors during the 2009-2010 academic year.
