Spotlights

Our mission is to bring together executives from leading corporations with Texas faculty and students to identify, document, research, develop and disseminate best practices in Supply Chain Management.

Joint Research Center Sustainability Symposium on Holistic Product Design
On May 14-15, 2008 three UT research centers will come together to explore new ways to look at creating cross-functional, integrated design processes through the lens of sustainability.

This symposium titled “Achieving Customer Impact by Balancing Environmental Intelligence, Supply Chain Optimization and Product Design” will provide an opportunity for Supply Chain, Marketing and Advanced Manufacturing executives to look at best practices, issues and opportunities for holistic product design; beginning with the customer/consumer need and moving backward to raw material acquisition. Participants will also explore how to achieve the optimum balance of aesthetic beauty/functionality, low cost and customer/consumer delight.

This event is co-hosted by the Supply Chain Management Center of Excellence (SCMC) and the Center for Customer Insight and Marketing Solutions (CCIMS) with support from the Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC). Participation is limited to SCMC and CCIMS sponsors, McCombs School of Business faculty and students, and AMC sponsors and affiliated faculty by invitation. For more information, please contact Diana Busler.
