Applied Materials is the global leader in nanomanufacturing technology solutions
for the electronics industry. Applied Materials’ solution offering includes
equipment and services supporting deposition, planarization, etch, cleaning,
plating, ion implant, metrology, inspection, flat panel display and others.
With global sales, distribution and support across Asia, North America and
Europe, flawless global execution in the delivery of support parts and services
into and within all customers’ operating countries is paramount. The challenge
in progress is to redesign the service logistics network into a more efficient
operating model, capable of improved levels of satisfaction with lower operating
costs, particularly those associated with global inventory. The strategy
involves leveraging internal and top 3PL design and execution capabilities.
