Roundtable Meeting on Collaborative Forecasting and Planning

November 19, 2004

The University of Texas Supply Chain Management Consortium will host a Roundtable Meeting on November 19, 2004 from 8am-3pm in the Multi-purpose Auditorium in the San Jacinto Residence Hall. The topic is "Collaborative Forecasting and Planning". A preliminary program follows. Driving directions, parking, and lodging are also included below.

Preliminary Program:

7:30 AM Continental Breakfast Opens.

8:00 AM Welcome and Road Map: Janet Dukerich (Chair, Management Department, UT, Austin), Katy Nelson (Director, Corporate Relationship Management, The Red McCombs School of Business, UT, Austin), and Douglas Morrice (Director, UT SCM Consortium).

10:15 AM Texas Instruments, "End-to-End Collaborative Forecasting and Lower Forecast Error-Rates", Kermic Powell, Planning Manager, TI E & PS.

11:00 AM Cardinal Health, "End-to-End Planning in a Healthcare Products Supply Chain", Claude Grant, Vice President, Manufacturing, Medical Specialties.

2:00 PM Wrap-up Panel Discussion. Panelists: Mike Glazer (Executive Vice-President, Glazer's Wholesale), Ron Ozment (Director, Forecast & Replenishment, HEB Grocery Company). Rajesh Purushothaman (Global Planning Manager, National Instruments).

Driving Directions to The University of Texas:

Heading North on IH-35:

Take the 15th Street - Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Exit. The first intersecting street/light is 15th St. Continue heading north on the access road past 15th street. The next intersecting street is Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Turn left/west onto MLK. Keep driving west on MLK until you approach Speedway Blvd (landmark: Texas History Museum on your left). Turn right onto Speedway. Take the first right to parking garage PG3 (see Parking Information below).

Heading South on IH-35:

Make sure to take the IH-35 overpass (stay to your right) and take the University of Texas exit. Heading south on the access road, get into the furthest right-hand lane. The first intersecting street/light is Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Turn right/west onto MLK. Keep driving west on MLK until you approach Speedway Blvd. (landmark: Texas History Museum on your left). Turn right onto Speedway. Take the first right to parking garage PG3 (see Parking Information below).

From Austin-Bergstrom International Airport:

Turn left from the airport onto Hwy 71 (also named Ben White).  Exit right onto HWY 183 (Airport Blvd.).  Stay in the right lane over the river, but do to turn right as 183 diverges from Airport.  The right lane becomes Airport and continues NW.  Keep driving west on MLK (traveling past I-35) until you approach Speedway Blvd. (landmark: Texas History Museum on your left). Turn right onto Speedway. Take the first right to parking garage PG3 (see Parking Information below).

Parking (and Directions to the San Jacinto Residence Hall):

Turn right onto Speedway and right at the first small street (between Jester dormitory and the construction site for the new museum).  The Brazos Garage (PG3) is ahead (http://www.utexas.edu/parking/maps/visitor/index.html).  Take a ticket.  We will validate your parking ticket at the meeting.

The San Jacinto Residence Hall is located across the street from the Brazos Garage (PG3).

Please follow arrows from BRG to SJH. Please enter by the Main Entrance in the main plaza. A staff member will direct you to the multi-purpose auditorium.
