If you still need to contact us about something, you have a few options:
- Come to the Millennium Lab (CBA 5.332) and speak with a Lab Proctor. Click here for lab hours.
- Send an e-mail to the Lab Supervisors. Please be very specific about any problems/issues in your email correspondence.
Printing
- Getting started
You must log into the ITS printing software with your IF account. Click this icon
in the system tray
(next to the clock). Or if the icon is not there, go to Start | Programs |
ITS Remote Printing for Windows. - Charges
Every student must have paid for Bevo Bucks in order to print.
Make sure you have Print Relay Services (PRS) enabled for your IF account. - Print jobs printed on the black & white
printers are $0.10/page; pages on the color printer are $0.80/page;
transparencies are $1.60/page.
What happens is that a print job gets sent to the print server. The print server sends the job to the printer and then waits to hear a report from the printer on how many pages the job was. If the job doesn't print, the server doesn't get the report and you don't get charged. However, if it was printed and you didn't pick it up, you will be charged for it. - Where is my print
job?
In the Millennium Lab, printouts are placed on the counter of the proctor station opposite the bank of printers. Old printouts are filed in the folders in front of the counters, and printouts are kept for three days. In the MOD Lab, printouts may be found either on the printer, by the printer, or in the metal filing drawer located in MOD West. In the Reading Room (Reliant Productivity Center), printouts may be found on the printer or on the shelf to the right of the printers. Printouts are only kept for three days in these labs also.
Make sure you select the correct printer before printing
Keep in mind: large documents or documents containing images will take longer to print.
The print queue may also be delayed if there a high volume of printing already exists. - Adobe Acrobat
files
If you are having trouble printing a PDF file, try selecting "print as image" from the print screen.
To copy text from a PDF file, select the Text tool icon from the Acrobat toolbar. (Looks like the letter T with an outline of a box.) This will allow you to highlight what you want to copy. After highlighting, right click in the area that you have highlighted. Select copy. Go to the document that you want to paste into, and select paste. - When printing a
document (in MS Word), and the bullets (or Greek letters) print out as
question marks, an easy way to solve the problem is:
- Go to File/Print
- Then click on the Properties Button (next to the printer selection)
- Then click on Advanced
- And under True Type Font, change it to Softfont then print the doc.
- When printing a document in Visio you may experience characters being mashed together on your printouts. Follow these steps to alleviate this problem: 1.) Click File – Print – Properties, 2.) click the “paper quality” tab, 3.) click Advanced, 4.) look for “True Type Font” in the Graphic section and change “Substitute with Device Font” to “Download as Soft Font”, click OK.

Homedrives (H: drives)
- Quota / disk
space
Currently the homedrive quota is 200 MB for undergraduates and 500 MB for graduate students. If you exceed this limit, you will not be able to save any more files to your H: drive. Additionally, files saved on your desktop may be lost when you log out. One thing to note about quotas: if you delete something and bring yourself below the quota limit, it may take the system several minutes to register that you are now under quota and unlock the drive again.

Account
- It takes a
long time to log in.
Every time you log in, your profile must be copied from your H: drive to the local computer. Any files you have in your "H:\ProfileNT" folder and on your desktop are contained within your profile. In order to keep your login times as short as possible, save all files directly to your H: drive and not on your desktop or "H:\ProfileNT".
