In past years, most teams have elected to either stay in the downtown area (near 6^th and 4^th street bars/restaurants) or stay near the soccer fields.  All soccer games will be played at UT Intramural Whitaker fields in Austin (intersection of 51^st street and Guadalupe – map).  Most hotels we contacted were already starting to fill up and, as such, were unwilling to give any deep group discounts.  We were able to reserve a block of rooms at the La Quinta.  Other hotels we contacted were not willing to set aside a block of rooms due to the fact that they are nearing capacity – however, we have listed these hotels as potential options for folks not familiar with Austin.  Please be aware of the fact that hotels in the Austin area could become tight – we urge all teams to reserve and confirm accommodations as quickly as possible.  You are, of course, under no obligation to stay at the hotels listed below.  All rates are quoted exclusive of applicable taxes.

1. La Quinta – CUT OFF DATE BEFORE MIDNIGHT 1/26/2008

The La Quinta is located in downtown Austin near 6th street (300 E 11^th Street).  15 rooms are temporarily reserved for our tournament.  To make reservations, please call 512.476.1166 and refer to the “Winter Classic Soccer Tournament” block.  Please note that there is not free parking at this hotel – valet is available but is not complimentary.  If you experience any booking problems, ask for the sales manager Adam.
