Brass Ring Program
The Brass Ring program, launched in 1998,
provides four person teams of undergraduate business students the
opportunity to gain real-world experience through course related project
work with central Texas companies and organizations. Brass Ring teams
define, develop, plan, and execute projects related to their academic or
career interests, utilizing proven performance excellence principles.
Completion of the program meets undergraduate internship requirements.
Students typically devote 6 hours per week
working with their sponsoring organization and 1-2 hours each week working
on project activities outside of the facility, as well as enroll in OM 366P / Operations Management Practicum which meets weekly.
Successful completion of the program provides
practical business experience, achieves bottom-line impacts for sponsoring
organizations, and offers credible resume information for summer internship
and employment recruiting purposes.
