We like to describe ourselves as a professional, social, and philanthropic
organization.
Professionally, we allow for our members to network with recruiters
and ABSA alumni. ABSA has many leadership opportunities, giving
members more insight of running an organization and real world
experiences.
Socially, ABSA is a great way to meet friends. The majority of
our members will say that the best part of ABSA is the people.
Everybody is friendly, talented, and great fun to be around. You
can find everything from workout buddies to a calculus tutor in
ABSA.
Philanthropically, ABSA works with many outside organizations
to volunteer and better the community. We participate in large
and small volunteering events, from Project 2006 to working with
a local Austin children's shelter.
What do you call your organization? "ABSA" (Ab-SAH) or
"A.B.S.A.?"
We are ABSA, pronounced "A.B.S.A."
Are only Asian Business students allowed to join ABSA?
No! About 40% of our members are not in business students. We
always invite all ethnicities to our meetings and events.
Why should I join ABSA?
You get free food at every meeting, a free Pick-a-Prof account,
and a free T-shirt. You also get to network, meet people, join
our mentorship program, and gain exposure to different fields
of business and companies.
For the upperclassmen, ABSA allows you to have intimate interaction
with recruiters and expands your possibilities for a job or career.
You can mentor underclassmen and enjoy our free socials!
