What do you like most about ABSA?
ABSA is an organization for every single individual, and it
has just about everything that you would want and need in an
organization. Often times, it doesn't feel like an organization—it’s
more like a family, and it feels natural to do everything related
to ABSA. I think that is what
makes it so unique from other organizations: the fact that it is
your home, and it offers everything you've ever needed.
What is your most memorable ABSA moment?
There are too many great memorable moments, so I’d like to
split it into the 3 pillars that represent ABSA:
Professional: I went to the amazing in-state and
out-of-state (Seattle) field trips where I got to visit many
companies and talk with those in their respective fields about
every single thing they do. More importantly, I got to know others
on the trip really well. It was simply unforgettable. It is
an experience I'll never forget!
Social: So many bonding experiences, from camping to
being in families. But I especially liked the Galveston trip as a
family. We went crab fishing (which I didn’t know
existed). It was just a great, relaxing weekend with the
incredible Smurfs!
Philanthropic: For someone that loves to give back to
the community, ABSA is definitely the one for you! With so many
volunteering opportunities, I was able to give back in some way at
least once a week. From Habitat-for-Humanity to Easter
Eggstravaganza, you name the volunteering event, and we’ve
helped out!
One interesting fact about yourself:
Since a lot of people tell me they’ve never met someone who
is Japanese, I am that first Japanese person for a lot of members!
What is your dream car?
The Nissan GT-R
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
The ability to speak fluently in all languages
If you could bring 3 things to a deserted island, what
would they be?
An endless supply of Japanese/Korean/Mexican/Italian food, an
A/C unit, and an mp3 with a solar charger (pictures of family and
friends; music to keep me sane; movies to watch to remind me of
humanity!)

If John were a car, he'd
be a 1998 Honda Accord coupe: reliable, cooler than a sedan, and Japanese.
If John's name were a
verb, it would mean to work really hard and meticulously,
i.e., "Let's John Terada this case comp and beat the entire
business school!"
