Constitution
Article I.
Name of Organization
This organization shall be known as “Business Healthcare Association”
Article II.
Statement of Purpose
Business Healthcare Association's mission is to expose students to the medical, financial, and legal aspects of providing healthcare. Additionally, BHA provides students with opportunities to participate in community service and social activities.
Article III.
Membership
Membership is open to all University of Texas students of all majors. Members must attend at least 2 general meetings and 1 other event, and must pay their membership dues [$40 per year, $25 per semester].
Article IV.
Officers
Business Healthcare Association officers shall be members of the Business Healthcare Association Executive Board, which will meet biweekly at the BHA executive meeting. Their purpose is to determine the general direction of the organization and to decide issues of long- term importance to the Business Healthcare Association. The executive meeting is open to all members.
The Business Healthcare Association officer positions shall be as follows:
President: The President shall call meetings, delegate tasks, and coordinate the operations and direction of BHA. She/ he also will serve as a representative between BHA and The University of Texas community.
Vice President: The Vice-President shall call BHA meetings in the President’s absence and also facilitate the acquisition of speakers.
Secretary: The Secretary shall compile and maintain the minutes of meetings and the records of the organization, keep a current list of members, and be responsible for notifying members of meetings. If there are no assistants to the secretary, then two people may hold the position of secretary as co-chairs.
Treasurer: The Treasurer shall maintain the financial accounts and records of BHA, set forth the organization’s budget, and facilitate any fundraising projects.
Programs Coordinator: The Programs Coordinator shall be in charge of the coordination of all service and social events by researching, proposing, planning, and participating in the event.
Executive Liaison: The Executive Liaison shall communicate between BHA and other organizations, provide assistance to any of the other officer if need be, and to do any miscellaneous jobs.
Student Advisor: The student advisor (if available) shall be a student who was a previous officer that serves as a resource for Business Healthcare Association members for guidance on any issues involving the management of the organization and also act as a mentor to the to the new officers.
Technical Advisor: The technical advisor shall manage the website and any other technical aspects.
All officers will perform their duties and responsibilities and help with any other extra tasks.

Article V.
Voting
The Business Healthcare Association officers shall be elected by the majority of active members in the club in the April of each year. The officers will serve for one academic year.
Voting will be done in the form of dropdown voting. Dropdown voting allows for several people to run for a position and whoever does not get elected for one position may run for another position in the following order:
President
Vice President
Treasurer
Secretary
Programs Coordinator
Executive Liaison
Article VI.
Removal/ Leaving of an Officer
In the case of a vacancy of a position, the executive board will appoint a member for that position who will then serve in that position for the rest of the year.
Article VII.
Meetings
General meetings for BHA will be held biweekly. Executive meetings will also be held biweekly, on the weeks when there is no general meeting.
Article VIII.
Amendments to the Constitution
Amendments to this constitution shall be adopted by the two- thirds vote of the Executive Board.
Any revisions can be made as needed.
