The Lone Star State
Texas has a mystique
unique in the world. When people think of Texas they think of our clear
blue skies, wide-open spaces, and of course the wild west cowboy culture.
While Texans enjoy lots of living space and and a beautiful natural environment,
visitors to the state's major cities will notice it is anything but wild.
Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio are all modern metropolises with
sophisticated urban living and uncompromising nightlife. Here are some
interesting GLBT facts about Texas:

led the city's GLBT pride parade for the last 12 years.

numerous gay bars is located across the street from the front door of the
Alamo.
Austin: An Oasis
Austin is often compared
to a smaller San Francisco. The city's laid-back culture, its
inclusiveness, its rolling hills, and its focus on outdoor activities support
this claim. In addition to miles of green belts and running trails around
Town Lake and Barton Creek, Austin offers a host of outdoor shopping, dining,
nightlife opportunities.
Austin supports some of
the best TexMex, BBQ, and exotic game restaurants anywhere. Outdoor
festivals abound in Austin including the monthly First Thursday Street Festival
in trendy SOCO (South Congress Avenue) and a number of annual live music

called Splash, held each Labor Day and Memorial Day on beautiful Lake Travis.
