Why is it called the "Hot Seat"
Challenge?
When all eyes are looking to you for answers, you
are on the hot seat. We chose this name to imply a challenging but fun time.
We want you to stretch yourself, have a good time and reach your inner guru.
You will be on the hot seat many times in your future career; you should have
practice now while the stakes aren't so high.
What is a "live case"?
A live case is not a case in the
traditional sense. You'll be presented with a real and current situation facing
our sponsor. Examples of situations are:
Our Platinum sponsor has identified that an attractive new segment - over 55 age group- is willing to buy its cereal "Coco Explosion" but doesn't like the youthful branding. Develop a new product and positioning strategy recommendation that better meets their needs.
We'll provide you with relevant background on the company and the industry. You'll have one night to do some additional research and create your marketing plan. You'll present on Friday morning with your best recommendation. We realize one night is not a lot of time, so we'll set reasonable expectations for our sponsors and will really be looking for creativity and ideas over the nuts and bolts of implementation.
