What is the Graduate Marketing Network?
The Graduate Marketing Network (GMN) provides members with the tools and resources to CONNECT them to their marketing interests and help them DISCOVER new ones. Through hands on experiences, cutting edge speakers and innovative workshops, GMN provides its members with a current perspective on marketing and prepares them for successful futures as marketing professionals.

Marketing Challenge
The 2008 Marketing Hot Seat Challenge! We are in the works with corporate sponsors to make the Marketing Challenge a highlight of your McCombs Marketing Experience.
The Challenge is a one-night case competition that allows students to apply classroom frameworks to a real-world situation and present their findings and recommendations to a panel of judges comprised of Marketing professionals. The event continues to be one of the MBA Program's most successful. For more information, please contact Shannon Ellison or Lisa Searing, our VPs of Special Events.
Guest Speakers
The GMN hosts speakers from the packaged goods, high-tech, and services industries who discuss their roles, responsibilities, and challenges in the marketplace. Recent speakers include high-level representatives from Porsche, Frito-Lay, Chevron/Texaco, and Sabre, among others. Speakers also include McCombs alumni who return to campus to help current students with recruiting and interviewing. One of the most successful GMN events in previous semesters was a case interviewing workshop led by 6 McCombs alumni from Frito-Lay, which prepared first-year GMN members for the rigors of internship interviews.
Marketing Practicum
Each semester, several companies will sponsor "Practicum" classes with the McCombs MBA Marketing Program. A Practicum class involves 5-15 students taking on a research-based project for the sponsoring company. Students spend the semester working with representatives from the company and then present their results and recommendations to senior executives. Examples of companies who have sponsored practicums are Heinz, Accenture, American Airlines, The Nike Tour, and IBM.
