SUGGESTIONS FROM PRIOR JUDGES

  1. Cases are generally NOT quantitative but qualitative in nature.  Instead, we are asking each team to focus on the subjective, judgmental issues that often surround investment.  The case will be graded on how your team thought about the issues, the assessment of strengths, weaknesses and risks and the ways to structure around those risks.
  2. Historically (as with the business world) the most successful presentations:

·       contained not only good content and thoughtful judgment but also were professional in their presentation in terms of pace and visual attractiveness;

·        included a preliminary overview of the case "findings" at the beginning of the presentation;

·        did not provide too much of a recap of the case itself (the team should assume their audience knows the case).

  1. Don't guess during the Q & A; it's okay to say "I don't know" or "We didn't focus on that particular issue".  A few of the groups were likely eliminated because of their somewhat haphazard answers during the Q&A.
