The following list will hopefully help you find a church home while you're here in Austin.  We have identified MBACF members where possible in case you want to ask any questions about a particular church.

Baptist

Latter-Day Saints

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints www.lds.org

There are many congregations in the Austin and surrounding areas, including congregations for Singles and Spanish speakers. To locate the nearest congregation, or to learn more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (commonly called the Mormon Church), visit www.mormon.org. The site includes information about the Church's teachings regarding the family, the nature of God, and the purpose of life. You can also view frequently asked questions or ask a question of your own. You can also learn more at JesusChrist.lds.org.  All are welcome to attend weekly religious classes such as Old and New Testament, Building an Eternal Marriage, etc., taught Monday through Friday at 2020 San Antonio Street.

Non-Denominational

Austin Stone Community Church  www.austinstone.org 

Central Austin.  Services are held at Austin High School.  The church is growing and has approximately 4,000 people attending each Sunday.  Contemporary worship style with great praise and solid teaching.  Chris Tomlin leads praise when he is in town, but Andy Melvin leads praise most weeks and is a great worship leader as well.

A community of believers whose purpose is to glorify God through worshipping God in spirit and in truth, instructing believers in the teachings and application of the Bible, fellowshipping with one another to promote love and good works, and evangelizing the world by proclaiming and modeling the good news of Jesus Christ.

Central Austin. A fairly large congregation with a wide range of fun ministries, including a unique ministry to artists and emphasis on the arts.  Worship is decidedly contemporary and well executed

Lake Hills Church www.lhc.org

A great singles ministry and a great college-aged ministry. It also has some of the best music in Austin, and that’s saying a lot for the live music capital of the world.  The Lake Hills Church band has released several CDs and they boast one of America’s best guitar players. There is a terrific small group Bible study program as well. Lots of children’s activities and great people! The church has approximately 4,000 people.

West Austin. Located on Bee Caves Road in Westlake, WBC is devoted to teaching and growing. Strong message with contemporary praise and worship style service. Spiritually challenging yet laid back and family friendly (you won't see any suits). Strong Men's and Women's ministries.  Many young families and young couples.  Services at 9:30am, 11am, and 6pm.

Westover Hills Church of Christ  www.westover.org

Classes are at 9am on Sunday and 7pm on Wednesday. Worship begins at 10:20am Sunday. There are about 1200 active members so it’s a large congregation with fantastic young professionals, young married and young married with children groups that meet for classes Sunday mornings.

Presbyterian

This Northwest Austin church is a bit removed from the campus area, but is much more young-adult friendly than most of the Catholic Churches in Austin.  Convenient to the Arboretum area, the congregation consists of mostly 30-somethings and their very young children and embraces a very welcoming, open attitude towards visitors. Mass and Sacraments schedule is available online.
