Community Involvement
The McCombs Diversity Council (MDC) is an
advocate of a business environment powered by
the diversity of its individuals. The
organization realizes that entrants into the
world of business must possess a knowledge,
respect and understanding of diversity. With
this in mind, MDC focuses on the development of
a McCombs student body that embraces diversity
as a competitive advantage and a way of life.
In order to cultivate a diversified student
body, MDC has created a recruiting committee
that concentrates its efforts on incoming
freshman.

High school recruiting programs focus on educating underrepresented high school students (specifically juniors and seniors) about college life, the power of diversity and the McCombs School of Business. The committee aims at not only attracting students into the School of Business, but to instill a sense of pride and confidence concerning their diverse background. MDC hopes that creating a sound relationship with underrepresented high school students will result in a significant number of minorities applying to the McCombs School of Business.
Once admitted, freshman can enjoy other services provided by MDC. These services are intended to make the transition from high school to college as smooth as possible for incoming business freshman. This benefits the McCombs School of Business by fostering an active and motivated freshmen class, which in turn will raise the standards of the business school.
