9th ANNUAL OPERATIONS CASE
COMPETITION AT
CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY
NOV 5-6, 2004
MBA students from McCombs win 3rd place in
the Carnegie Mellon University Operations Competition
The
CMU Operations Case Competition showcases the
best MBA students from the top programs in the world. This
competition is by invitation only. This year the competition pitted 17
teams from the top Operations programs in the nation (see
list).
McCombs was invited again this year. Through
the Management Department, our School selected and sponsored 4
outstanding MBA students to represent us. They were Diego Dyer, Frank
Llosa, Alberto VanOordt and Richard Valdez (all of them members of
Excellence in Operations).
The team flew to Pittsburgh on November
5th. After receiving the case that evening, they only had 12 hours to
prepare and present their recommendations the following morning in front
of corporate and faculty judges. Competing against other 16 top schools,
the McCombs team went into the final round and won Third Place.
Congratulations to these outstanding
students!
