The Undergraduate Business Council believes that as our online visitor you have a right to know our practices regarding the
information we collect when you visit our website and what type of information is collected. The guidelines contained herein
only apply to your visits to www.texasbusinesscouncil.com, which is operated by the Undergraduate Business Council (“UBC”).
The domain, www.texasbusinesscouncil.com redirects you to http://www.mccombs.utexas.edu/students/ubc/ and will be here on
referred to as the “UBC Website”. We remain responsible for the content, with several notable exceptions, that exist on sites
that contain the previously mentioned URL. Any link clicked on by the user that redirects the user outside of the UBC Website
may have different policies. Therefore, we suggest that you review the policies of those websites. We pledge to handle the
personal information you provide with the utmost safety and respect, including clarity to how that information is used.
Identifying Information
In general, you can visit the UBC Website without telling us who you are or providing any information about yourself. In some
areas of the website, we may ask you to provide information that will enable us to process an order, offer services that require
registration, or to follow up with you. We generally request identifying information when you:
- Register on our website be it for a program or a “virtual interaction”.
- Place an order or request notification of order status.
- Provide feedback to an online survey or tell us about an idea or suggestion.
- Register to receive mailings.
Signing-Up for Programs and other UBC Sponsored Activities
In order to participate in some of our programs and activities, it will be necessary for you to provide personally identifiable
information including e-mail, names, addresses, and contact information. You have the unequivocal right to refuse to provide
this information, but it will most likely make you ineligible to participate in those activities.
What We Do with that Information
By and large, information submitted through the UBC website is used to document and catalog individuals who attend our events.
That information is used internally not only to run our programs but also to analyze the success of our programs. This may
involve the UBC soliciting feedback to the contact information submitted by you as our online visitor. Some of our services
absolutely require information in order for us to maintain a decent atmosphere conducive to discourse.
We may also store information such as the visitor's IP address/domain name combination and any referring websites as a way to
analyze traffic patterns to, from, and on our site. We use this information to understand how best to serve you as the online
visitor in the development, reorganization, planning, and content implementation of the UBC Website. This includes the
possibility of “cookies”, which store certain information on your computer and which will allow us to customize your experience
to better match your interests and preferences, or to simply facilitate your signing in to use the services. Most browsers offer
an option to erase these cookies.
We, the Undergraduate Business Council, will never release your information to outside third parties without your prior consent.
Nor will we use the information you submit or that we collect in an intrusive or knowingly harmful way. We respect your right
to privacy and take matters such as these seriously.
Your Rights
You may at anytime, having submitted information or requesting a service, ask us to remove your personal information from our
databases or from a specific service by e-mailing the Technology Director. We will process that request within one week.
Please bear with us as it does take some time for us to update our systems.
Consent to Processing
By providing any personal information to the UBC website, you fully understand and unambiguously consent to the collection
and processing of such information.
