Students at the McCombs School of Business and the University of Texas are able to take advantage of some great deals on hardware and software. Here are some programs you should be aware of as you plan your technology purchases:

McCombs Notebook Program

This is the 9th year of the McCombs notebook program. The goal of this program is to provide students with an affordable portable computer that will meet the performance needs of their programs and be backed with comprehensive hardware and software support from the college IT staff.

University Campus Computer Store

The Campus Computer Store, located in the Flawn Academic Center, offers students discounted hardware from a number of vendors, as well as a wide variety of software at educational discount pricing. In addition, the Campus Computer Store also serves as the software distribution center for UT's Microsoft Campus Agreement. Through this program, students can purchase copies of Microsoft's Windows and Office programs for around $20 each.

Dell Premier Site for UT Students

Dell has set up a special website with discount offers for UT students. This site includes virtually the entire Dell line at prices below their standard education pricing.

BevoWare

The University of Texas ITS department makes a wide variety of utilities and applications, including anti-virus and anti-spyware programs, available for free through the BevoWare program. This program distributes applications through a secure website.
