Entourage 2004 setup
PLEASE NOTE! Because Macintosh OSs and software are not part of the McCombs Common Operating Environment, we cannot provide you with full technical support for this configuration. These instructions are provided as a courtesy, but we are unable to help troubleshoot issues.
Some students find that Entourage runs very slowly when connected to their McCombs email, or that it's buggy with its synchronization, especially with Calendars. You may wish to run Boot Camp or Parallels with Windows and Office instead.
- Open Entourage. If the automated email assistant opens, close it.
- On the Tools menu, select Accounts.

- Click the Exchange tab and
then click New.

- Enter your McCombs email account into the E-mail address
field. Check My account is on an Exchange server.

- On the Account Settings tab, enter the following
information. The fields may be in a slightly different order
depending on when you purchased your copy of Office 2004.

Click OK.

- Outlook should now synchronize with your McCombs email account. If you get a message about being unable to connect properly because Entourage could not verify the root certificate, click OK.
You cannot add the McCombs Global Address List to Entourage, but you can add the UT Directory. If you add the UT Directory to your Mac, you will be able to access email addresses for your classmates and McCombs faculty and staff; however, you will not be able to reserve resources (such as study rooms) or view McCombs distribution lists. Instructions for adding the UT Directory to Entourage can be found at http://www.utexas.edu/its/messaging/mac_ldap.html.
