  1. How does the Texas Evening MBA compare to The Executive MBA programs?

     

  2. TEMBA Executive MBA
    Students from both programs participate in study groups that meet outside of class
    Students remain fully employed and attend classes on Monday and Tuesday evenings Students remain fully employed and attend class every other weekend (all day Friday and Saturday)
    Takes 3 years-3 fall, 3 spring, and 2 summer semesters Takes 2 years-2 fall, 2 spring, and no summers. Students may take one or both of their elective courses during the summer
    Students attend 3 one-week Austin Intensive experience Immersion Courses in August of each year Students attend 4 one-week Executive Seminars at specified times in their program
    Draws students from the Austin metro area Draws from a larger geographical area, primarily Texas but also nationally
    Minimum experience 2 years, average experience 6 years Minimum experience 5 years, average experience 12 years

  3. Will TEMBA use a cohort system?

    Yes, students will enter as a cohort class - the same group of students will take the same sequence of courses together.

  4. Is this the same degree as the Full-Time MBA?

    The University awards only one MBA degree. All MBA candidates earn the same MBA degree, regardless of the program they are registered in.

  5. Where is the Austin Intensive Experience held?

    In 2006, the Austin Intesive experience was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin. Students will be in-residence during the week at the Austin Intensive site and should not plan for any work activity during this time.

  6. How many classes will I take each semester?

    Students take two classes each semester for 8 semesters (fall, spring, summer, fall, spring, summer, fall, spring).

  7. How much time should I expect to spend outside class?

    The typical TEMBA student should expect to spend 15-25 hours preparing for class and attending study group meetings.

  8. What happens if I fail a course?

    The course would be retaken the next time it is offered. This may delay graduation.
