McCombs students wishing to claim credit by exam are encouraged to contact their Academic Advisor before petitioning, and should follow these guidelines:
Read all relevant information on the Instructional Assessment and Evaluation web site carefully, as once credit has been claimed, it cannot be changed.
Students eligible for credit from the AP Statistics exam should claim "STA 309" from the options. If a first-year student plans to apply to the Business Honors Program, this credit should not be claimed until their admission status is known, as BHP students are required to take STA 309H. Credit claimed for STA 309 will not count towards the one time course exception for students transferring into the BHP.
Hours earned from credit by exam will be counted as hours attempted for the $1000 Tuition Rebate and Texas "B-On-Time" loans, so consider whether the hours are necessary for your degree before petitioning.
