Waitlist
When you join a class waitlist, you
indicate your desire to be added to the
class, but joining the waitlist does not
guarantee that you will be added to the
class.
If you get into the class, you will be
billed for the class. You are responsible
for checking your status on each list and
for changing your status as your wishes
change. You may change your list status at
any time through the fourth class day,
from your See My Waitlists page in the
online registration system.
Each section of a course can have only one
list. Students are moved from the waitlist
only into that section, not into other
sections of the course.
You may be on up to four lists at one
time. You may be on lists for up to two
sections of a course; if you are enrolled
in the course, you may be on the list for
one additional section.
When you are on a waitlist, you may choose
another class on your schedule to swap
for it; if you get into the waitlisted
class, you will be dropped from the swap
class. You may choose or change your
swap class at any time at your
See My Waitlists page.
You will be blocked from getting into a
class if:
- The meeting time conflicts with the time of another class on your schedule.
- Adding the class would increase your course load beyond the semester-hour maximum (17 hours in fall and spring, 14 in summer).
- You are in another section of the course and did not choose it as your swap class.
These blocks will appear on your
See My
Waitlists page. When blocked, you stay on
the list, but others move ahead until
you've fixed the block.
Notices about your waitlists and your
enrollment will be sent to your current UT
Austin e-mail address. You are responsible
for providing a valid e-mail address to UT
Austin and for reading and responding to
e-mail on a timely basis.
