GOV 310L - American Government
This course is a standardized three-hour introduction to American national, state, and local political institutions and policies, and includes a study of the United States and Texas constitutions. Fulfills the first half of the legislative requirement for 6 hours of American Government.
prerequisites: 12 semester hours of coursework.
GOV 312L - Issues and Policies in American Government
Although GOV 312L topics vary from semester to semester, the course may not be repeated for credit. This course allows the student to select one of several sections on problems and policies that pertain to American national, state, and local political institutions. Fulfills the second half of the legislative requirement for Government.
prerequisites: 24 semester hours of coursework, including GOV 310L.

GOV 105 - Texas Government
A brief survey of the organization and process of Texas government. Topics include the Constitution, political, parties, interest groups, elections, branches of government, taxing and spending. This course is designed for transfer students who need only one hour of Texas government to fulfill the legislative requirement.
GOV 105 is offered as a online course taught through University Extension.

Texas Government Test
If you took the AP Examination in United States Government and Politics, you will not be eligible for GOV 310L credit until you take the UT Austin Test on Texas Government, which is offered only on the UT Austin campus.
An official copy of your AP score must be on file with the Instructional Assessment and Evaluation office before you may take the UT Austin Test on Texas Government.
