When to do an Internship

You can complete an internship at any time during your academic career. In fact, the earlier you get started and the more experience you gain, the better.

However, you can only use an internship toward the degree requirement once you have declared a major and completed 45 semester hours of college credit.  The required internship should not be done during your final semester.

Only one internship course can count toward your degree.

Note to international students: Depending upon your visa status, you may have different guidelines. Contact the International Office at 471-1211 for information regarding work authorization.

If a student completes an internship course, and then changes business majors, the student does not have to complete another internship.  Any McCombs internship course can count for any major.

Students in the BBA/MPA integrated approach should see their academic advisors to discuss their internship course options.
