- The campus received its Royal Charter in 1966 with the purpose of dissemination of sciences and arts, as well as creating close ties with industry and commerce.
- Located in the South West of England, London, the capital, is about 1.5 hours away by train.
- The school currently enrolls 12,000 students.
- Each year the school runs a vibrant business plan competition for students providing a £10,000 prize fund sponsored by local companies.
