All about the Business Partners Program

The Business Partners Program was started in Spring 2007 as a program to help freshmen students with their transition in McCombs student life. Some students have a more challenging time adjusting to academics, work/life balance, and campus life in general, and the hope was that Business Partners would close that gap by creating one-on-one partnerships with those students who needed our help.

Since then, the program has expanded to assist freshmen and sophomores. We have also offered “Office Hours,” where students can drop in to ask any of the Senior Partners questions about anything.
Since the program’s inception, our Senior Partners have partnered with over 100 students, and we hope to continue and expand our outreach in the upcoming years.

Senior Partners

Senior Partners are juniors and seniors that are interested in helping the freshman and sophomore students as much as possible. They are involved in various campus activities and organizations, and this helps when they work to connect their Junior Partners with campus resources.
They provide the Junior Partner with a unique one-on-one experience without added pressures. The partnership is not forced; instead, the Senior Partner serves as a mentor for the Junior Partner and they jointly decide the details of their partnership.

Junior Partners

Junior Partners are freshman and sophomore students in the McCombs School of Business who wish to be paired up with an upperclassman for a one-on-one mentorship. A Junior Partner can get better acquainted with campus life and learn more about all the resources that McCombs and the university has to offer by emailing the Business Partners Program. From there the Business Partners Program will send the interested student a quick survey to match the Junior Partner with a compatible Senior Partner.
