The McCombs International Business Challenge is an annual undergraduate business case competition held each fall at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. Twenty universities compete in the event with teams of four students. Each team receives a case depicting contemporary, real-world problems encountered by a modern business firm. The students have two days to prepare a solution for the case. At the end of the two days, each team presents their solution to the "client," a panel of distinguished judges from the case company, the sponsor company and other members of the business community.
Top-notch students from the participating universities gain experience facing senior representatives from sponsoring firms, interact with high-caliber students from around the world, network new contacts, learn more about sponsors through company presentations, and expand their business and presentation skill set.
The competition can't take place without the support of sponsors. Sponsors help the competition form and strengthen relationships with 20 leading undergraduate business schools from the U.S., Canada, South America, Asia and Europe; meet and evaluate 80 exceptional students from highly ranked business programs; reinforce their commitment to innovation in undergraduate education; establish networks with prominent Texas businesspeople; increase visibility at the national and international level; and demonstrate enthusiasm for student initiated academic endeavors.
