BHP Outstanding Student & R. Conrad Doenges Award
These awards are presented to the five graduating Business Honors students who have distinguished themselves in academics and leadership in the judgment of their peers, the Honors Program faculty, and the Honors Program Faculty Committee.
- Non-academic contributions to UT, the CBA and/or the BHP
- Distinction among his/her peers in the Honors Program
- Academic excellence
The five winners will receive a plaque and will be named on the master plaque hanging in the BHP office. From among the five winners of this award a recipient will be selected to receive the:
R. Conrad Doenges Award for Academic Excellence and Leadership in the Business Honors Program. Established in 1990, the RC Doenges Award is presented annually to the graduating honors student, who in the judgment of his or her peers, the BHP faculty, and a faculty committee, is judged most deserving. The award, named after the late Associate Dean for Undergraduate Affairs, Dr. R.C. Doenges, consists of a plaque, a $1,000 honorarium, and a set of books selected by the Doenges Family.

2014 Rising Star Leadership Award
The Rising Star Leadership Award is presented to a graduating McCombs undergraduate or MPA student who has proven an established commitment to service within the McCombs School through outstanding scholarship and achievements, as well as exemplary leadership and community involvement. The recipient demonstrates significant growth potential as a future leader in the McCombs community.

The Texas Exes President's Leadership Award highlights individual students nominated for consistently going above and beyond the call of duty, representing character and integrity in everything they do, and modeling outstanding leadership qualities by improving the quality of life of their peers and/or improving the University itself. Leadership hinges on values, relationships and a strong conviction in the future. Recipients are expected to emerge as future leaders for this university. The award is given to a freshman, sophomore, two juniors and two seniors.

2012 Texas Parent's Association Outstanding Student

Erica Brody and Michael Daehne received the two Texas Parents’ Association Outstanding Student Awards for 2012. The award was established in 1951 to recognize student leadership on campus and is given to only two students each year (one male, one female).

2008 Goldman Sachs Global Leader
Business Honors and Plan II major Rebecca Counts was named one of sixteen Goldman Sachs Global Leaders. This award is given to the top sixteen candidates nation-wide who demonstrate exceptional qualities in academic achievement, leadership abilities, potential for growth, communication skills, personal qualities and ethical character. Eight of the U.S. Global Leaders will be selected to attend a week-long leadership session in New York over the summer.
Counts was also a member of the Texas Mock Trial that placed 1st at the National Tournament in Memphis, TN (2008) and 1st at the Dallas Regional Tournament (2007).
2007 Draddy Trophy National Top Scholar-Athlete
On December 4, 2007, Dallas Griffin was awarded the 2007 Draddy Trophy presented by the National Football Foundation at its Hall of Fame induction banquet at the Waldorf-Astoria in midtown Manhattan. The award honors the nation's top scholar-athlete in college, recognizing an individual as the absolute best in the country for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary community leadership. As the Draddy recipient Dallas will receive a $25,000 scholarship, the Draddy trophy and national recognition.
Griffin was a three-time first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection and graduated with a double major in Business Honors and Finance. He recently graduated from the McCombs MBA program in 2009.
2007 Junior President’s Leadership Award
The Texas Exes President's Leadership Award highlights individual students nominated for consistently going above and beyond the call of duty, representing character and integrity in everything they do, and modeling outstanding leadership qualities by improving the quality of life of their peers and/or improving the university itself. Leadership hinges on values, relationships, and a strong conviction in the future. Recipients are expected to emerge as future leaders for this university. The award is given to a freshman, sophomore, two juniors and two seniors. Katie Brehm was one of the two junior award recipient for the 2007-2008 Presidential Leadership Award. Katie Brehm was a BHP and Marketing major with minors in MIS and French, and a Bridging Discipline Program Certificate in Ethics and Leadership. She also was a member of Texas Spirits, Business Council, Economics Research, Camp Texas, HBA and was a BHP Super Peer Advisor.

By age 22, Christine founded the Southeast Asian Children’s Coalition, a nonprofit organization that offers elementary school scholarships, vocational training and English lessons to sex-trafficking survivors. She spent the Summer of 2005 studying government, working with Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and researching sex-trafficking along the Mexican border. Christine's dream job is to work as the United Nations Secretary-General.
2006 Fullbright Scholar
With a vision, a camera, and a Fulbright award, Sweta Vohra plans to change India, one woman at a time.
Congress established the Fulbright Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, in 1946. Sweta explained that the awards “promote a mutual understanding of cultures and encourage independent research and projects in foreign countries.” As the largest U.S. international exchange program, Fulbright operates in more than 140 countries and has awarded scholarships to more than 42,000 U.S. students over the lifetime of the program. To apply for the student Fulbright scholar award, a candidate must submit a two-page proposal, three letters of recommendation, a curriculum vitae, and reasons for wanting to do the project. Sweta received the award in June 2005, only a month after graduating with a degree in business honors from McCombs and RTF from the College of Communication.
2005 Truman Scholar
The Harry S. Truman Scholarship, one of the nation’s most prestigious graduate awards, is awarded annually to college juniors deemed to possess extraordinary leadership potential and interest in a public service career such as government, nonprofit, education, or a related field. Thousands apply every year, but only a fortunate few are recognized with the coveted $30,000 award that will support the recipients’ graduate studies. Lauren has recently completed medical school at Harvard University and is currently an intern at Massachusetts General Hospital.

This prestigious student award, established by the Friar Society in partnership with the Association, recognizes an individual at the junior level or above who has distinguished academic credentials, has made significant contribution to the university through campus-wide activities and evidences the personal attributes of character and integrity that have earned the respect and admiration of his or her peers.
