Sandy Fielden

Sandy Fielden headshotSandy Fielden joined Hoffman after 25 years experience in the energy industry in Europe and North America. Starting in London, working for Fina (now TotalFinaElf) he spent five years in the oil sector as a business analyst. He left Fina to join a start up Software Company, Saladin, that sold charting tools to traders. Relocating to the US in 1989, he has since held a succession of management roles in high growth companies involved in energy market analysis and risk management. Before Hoffman, he was with Energy Trading and Risk Management firm Allegro Development, Inc.
Sandy has broad knowledge of energy markets and the impact of deregulation. He worked closely with clients in oil, natural gas and electricity including the majors (BP, ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, ChevronTexaco), gas marketers (Enron, Dynegy, Duke and Aquila) as well as utilities (AEP, Constellation, DTE, Exelon, NRG, SDG&E ) and many more. He has written extensively about energy markets and had several articles published in Energy Risk, Commodities Now and The Desk. He is an expert in energy market data and has spoken on the topic at conferences worldwide. He has a degree in international history from Leeds University, an MBA and most recently was a member of the first graduating class for the Global Association of Risk Manager’s Energy Risk Professional (ERP)qualification.
