Global Sustainability Leadership Institute's Signature Programs

These are the signature programs the Global Sustainability Leadership Institute has to offer.

Texas Sustainability Innovation Challenge (TSIC)

The Global Sustainability Leadership Institute, in partnership with Bumble, is launching the largest cross-campus social entrepreneurship pitch competition in the Spring of 2020. 

Fund your social or environmental impact venture through the Texas Sustainability Innovation Challenge!  $10,000+ will be available at the UT-Austin competition, and another $50,000 will be available to the TSIC winners through the Fowler Global Social Innovation Challenge in San Diego.

Longhorn Impact Fellowship at Texas (LIFT)

The Longhorn Impact Fellowship at Texas, or LIFT, pairs student consultants (Fellows) with sustainable corporations, social enterprises, and nonprofits to solve an impact focused problem.

MBA Impact Investing Network and Training (MIINT)

The is an experiential learning opportunity that gives business students a hands-on education in impact investing. Students apply late in the fall semester.

Social Innovation Councils

The GSLI supports a Graduate Social Innovation Council and Undergraduate Social Innovation Council. These councils are made up of representatives from impact-focused student organizations, who meet regularly to share events and best practices. The Councils foster community and collaboration within the student community. The Graduate council sits under the Sustainability Director of the Graduate Business Council.

Sustainability Investment Group

The Sustainability Investment Group (SIG) educates undergraduate students on sustainable investing practices and provides hands on experience through fund management and company evaluation based on environmental, social, and governance – or ESG – investing factors in a variety of industries.
