We are excited to announce that Dr. Wen Wen is joining the IM faculty. Dr. Wen’s first and last names are the same so do not be confused! She just received her Ph.D. in Information Technology Management from Georgia Institute of Technology. She has an M.S. in Statistics as well. Her research investigates the role of intellectual property rights (IPR) strategies in software industry,with an emphasis on the impact of an incumbent firm’s IPR strategies on open source software (OSS) success and new ventures. Another line of her research focuses on the role of venture capital financing on entrepreneurial firm’s commercialization strategies such as the use of cloud computing. Dr. Wen has received many grants and awards for her research on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, including the prestigious Kauffman Dissertation Fellowship, NationalBureau of Economic Research (NBER) Honorarium for the Study of Patents, Standards and Innovation, and Kauffman/Georgia Research Alliance Grant for the Study of Entrepreneurship and Productivity.
