Ramesh Rajagopalan

Dr. Rajagopalan has a unique blend of academic and industry experience. He is a seasoned academician with over a decade of undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, scholarship and service in large, small, private and public university settings. Recognition of his academic excellence include tenured appointment at Mercer University, grants from agencies such as NSF, collaboration work with industry partners such as Northrop, Boeing and US Air Force and publications in leading journals. 

His teaching career includes faculty appointments at Mercer University, Wichita State University, Texas Tech University, St. Edwards University and St. Mary’s University (San Antonio, TX). Ramesh has developed and taught several graduate and undergraduate level courses in Operations Management, New Venture Creation and Management, Engineering Management, Quantitative Methods, Supply Chain Management, Statistical Applications, IT Systems & Management and e-Commerce

Ramesh has made significant impact at various companies in a number of business critical areas including advanced analytics, supply chain management, cloud computing, operations management, and information technology. He has been recognized as a versatile leader with broad based experience in driving customer success through a variety of service and solution portfolio, gaining customer insights through various channels, and building programs to deliver highest quality service and maximize customer satisfaction scores. He has a proven track record of success in leading large global teams of 10-70 staff members and over 20 years and 1000s of hours of experience in consulting, spearheading collaboration amongst diverse teams.

Ramesh has consistently excelled in his professional career spanning over 20 years beginning with i2 (now JDA) and then with IBM, Deloitte, SmartOps (now SAP) and most recently with Dell, He has been outstanding in his ability to forge strong executive relationships globally at numerous Fortune 100 companies. His international assignments include Germany, UK, Netherlands, Japan, India, Malaysia, China and USA.  

The Department of Information, Risk & Operations Management is excited to welcome Dr. Rajagopalan as a Senior Faculty member and Associate Director of the Business Analytics program. Welcome to McCombs, Ramesh!
