PhD Student

Seung-Hwan Jeong is a doctoral candidate in strategic management at the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin. Seung's research interests are in behavioral strategy, with a focus on how top executives’ cognition, decision-making, and framing efforts influence firm strategies, performance, and stakeholders. His research in this area has generated a forthcoming article in the Academy of Management Journal that examines how the presence of women in firms’ upper echelons influences strategic risk-taking and firm performance. Seung's dissertation investigates how CEOs, through their cognitive resources and interactions with stock analysts, can help firms to achieve and benefit from organizational ambidexterity. He has successfully defended his dissertation proposal in January 2017, and expects to graduate in Spring 2018.
