Yurianna's primary research focus has been exploring the process and consequences of voice, i.e., employees speaking up at work. Her dissertation expands on this area by taking a closer look at how managers turn down voiced ideas and the effects of this rejection on employees. She is also interested in the topics of teamwork and diversity. She has presented much of this research at the annual Academy of Management conference since she started graduate school. Before starting the doctoral program, Yurianna worked in Development for the University of Notre Dame and in Sales for General Mills. She is originally from Houston, Texas.
