Shefali Patil is an Assistant Professor of Management at the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin. She received her PhD from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. Her research lies at the intersection of organizational behavior, social psychology, and decision making--and focuses on the contextual and attitudinal factors that shape how employees manage tradeoffs associated with (a) conforming to and deviating from standard practices, (b) pursuing performance and learning goals, and (c) being self-reliant and prosocial. She collaborates with several organizations particularly those in the military and medical industries. She earned her bachelor of science degree, summa cum laude, in Management and Marketing from the Stern School of Business, New York University.
