Biography Eugene is a PhD candidate in the Management Department at the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin. His research interests include innovation, technology strategy, and technological ecosystems. His dissertation studies the constraining effect of standardization on innovation within ecosystem in the Formula One industry. Using the theoretical lens of knowledge recombination, Eugene argues that standardization can stifle firms' knowledge recombination process. Eugene utilizes machine learning-based topic modeling to capture innovation in F1 cars'; technological components and how they are affected by standardization. He received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science with honors and general honors from the University of Chicago and Masters of Science degree in Management from the University of Texas at Austin and Seoul National University.
