Biography PK Toh is an associate professor at the University of Texas at Austin. He obtained his Ph.D in Strategy from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 2007. He studies technology strategy, focusing on issues of competition and innovation, value appropriation within ecosystems, standard setting, R&D organization, resource allocation and other technology-related strategies. He is a Senior Editor at Organization Science, and is on the editorial board of Strategic Management Journal, Strategy Science and Strategic Organization. His research has been published in leading academic journals, and has won the BPS Distinguished Paper Award, finalist in TIM Best Dissertation Award, and SMS Best Student Paper award. He has also won multiple Best Reviewer awards and teaching award. He has served in the capacities of organizer and panelist in various conferences, junior faculty consortia, PhD dissertation and doctoral consortia, and research committees. Within the department at UT Austin, he serves as the Strategy Area Coordinator. Prior to his academic career, he was a currency options trader at JPMorgan. Besides academic qualification, he has two advanced piano performance diplomas – Licentiate and Fellowship of the Trinity College of London.
