Company Field Trip

The CFT program gathers top McCombs students and offers them the chance to visit companies across the nation that are the respective leaders in their industry. Past CFTs have gone to New York City, Houston, Dallas, and San Francisco. In these cities, students have visited companies such as UBS, Deloitte, Neiman Marcus, the Federal Reserve, the Dallas Mavericks, Ernst & Young, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Boston Consulting Group, and Citigroup. This trip is a great way to learn about business outside of Austin. Upon arrival, the companies provide the students with a tour, lunch, and information about what makes the company great. CFTs occur through the academic year and spots to attend fill very quickly.

Benefits of attending CFT

  • Firsthand experience with major companies
  • Network with recruiters and other students
  • Have fun in another city!

Dallas

The Dallas CFT focuses on the management consulting. It targets the most prestigious companies such as Bain, BCG, Deloitte, and McKinsey & Company. The last event was held during Fall 2011. During the visit, representatives made a short presentation about their company. This was followed by a Q&A session, a tour of the office, and a chance to network/mingle with employees. Each company visit lasts around 2 hours, which allows students to understand the firm's corporate culture and business practices.
