The BBA Women’s Council (BBAWC) provides a forum for undergraduate businesswomen to learn about, and discuss current issues and opportunities in business. BBAWC participants learn how to prepare for success after graduation, how to network with prominent women in business, and about the challenges women may face in the workforce. The McCombs Diversity Council (MDC) is designed to educate students about diversity and diversity-related issues in the workplace. MDC strives to create an atmosphere in which students are comfortable conducting open dialogue on various diversity topics. BBA Corporate Mock Interviews are a great way to build your company’s reputation and presence on campus. Representatives from your company will interview eight students for mock positions and give the BBA students valuable feedback. Save the date: January 31, 2017, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.. BBA Etiquette Dinners (held each fall and spring) include a networking session and instruction in the do's and don'ts of business dining etiquette. Promotion Policies: 

The following policies have been created to help employers maximize awareness. Please note an employer must have posted an opportunity in RecruitMcCombs within the year to schedule promotion. Please email Megan Fortson regarding more information on how to utilize Texas BBA Career Services' social media resources and to schedule promotion. Please send all promotional materials 3-4 weeks before your event/program.

We will not promote:

  • Jobs and internships
  • Events and programs that compete with BBA Career Services events or industry competitors
  • Information Sessions that do not have a correlated job/internship posting in the On-Campus Recruiting System (OCR)
  • Events serving alcohol
  • Tailgate events

Spring 2017 Undergraduate Career Expo

When: February 1, 2017 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: UT RecSports, UT - Austin

The Undergraduate Career Expo (held fall and spring) provides opportunities for employers to recruit full-time and internship candidates at the McCombs School of Business. The Expo is open to current McCombs School of Business students in the BBA, MBA, MPA, MSBA, MSF, MSM, and MSTC programs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is open to all UT Austin students from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The expo is the largest McCombs School of Business career fair. It is hosted by the McCombs Career Expo Board (formally the McCombs Undergraduate Career Committee) and McCombs BBA Career Services.

BBA Students: See the BBA Career Services Undergraduate Career Expo website for student related information. Required Attire: Business Professional. Please see the Business Professional Attire Guide. Students not wearing business professional attire will not be permitted into the expo.

Registration fee includes an 6’ x 10’ booth and table, 2 parking permits, 8 ft. skirted table, two chairs, company sign, lunch and snacks for up to 4 representatives per booth.

If you are carrying display materials to the Expo, proceed to the loading zone located between RecSports and Montcrief-Neuhaus Athletic Center before parking. There will be volunteers in the loading zone assisting you with your materials and delivering them to your booth.  PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE UNATTENDED.

Parking
We recommend Brazos Garage (BRG), Manor Garage (MAG), San Jacinto (SJG) and Trinity Garage (TRG). Please see all garage locations.

Posting Recommendations

Posting in the RecruitMcCombs

The Undergraduate Career Expo is a great opportunity to promote your available positions. We recommend that you post positions in RecruitMcCombs in preparation to attend the event. We also recommend including information about your available positions in the career expo registration, which will be used to populate the career expo student brochure.

Resume Submission Deadline Recommendations

We recommend that your resume submission deadline(s) fall on or after the Monday following the Undergraduate Career Expo. This will allow students time to apply to your position(s) after meeting your company at the event. If your schedule does not allow time for this recommended deadline, we advise to extend your deadline to midnight on the evening of the career expo. Please reach out to your Recruitment Account Manager to discuss potential changes to your resume submission deadlines.

Student Organizations

There are over thirty McCombs BBA student organizations and many focus on particular industries or career interests. Employers are welcome to partner with the McCombs Affiliated Student Organizations for organization events and meetings. To connect with student organizations or for recommendations, please contact please contact Megan Fortson (email).

To find an undergraduate student organization not listed as a McCombs Affiliated Undergraduate Student Organization, please search The University of Texas at Austin Student Organization Database.

Student Organization Engagement Policy: 
We require that employers connect with student organizations through educational workshops (insider info about your industry, a day in the life, career prep advice, etc.) and not recruiting events (employers may not do an info session type of event just open to a specific organization).
